Executive Mosaic is pleased to announce that Matthew Tait, president and CEO of defense contracting company ManTech, has been named to the 2025 class of the Wash100 Award, an accolade conferred annually to 100 members of the government and the government contracting industry in recognition of their impact and contributions and in anticipation of future accomplishments.
Tait’s win this year is his third straight.
Continuing ManTech’s Success
Commenting on the achievement, Jim Garrettson, CEO of Executive Mosaic and founder of the Wash100 Award, said, “Since ascending to CEO two and a half years ago, Matt has ensured ManTech as a generator of continued meteoric success. Over the past year, he’s led the company to huge contract wins with the DOD, Marine Corps and FBI—no small feat. But it’s not just about the deals. Matt is also making strategic moves, like launching ManTech’s first-ever defense advisory board and expanding its footprint with a new operational center in Hawaii.”
“With a strong foundation in cybersecurity, AI and enterprise IT, Matt is equipping ManTech to fight the world’s most pressing problems, and we can’t wait to see what he does next,” Garrettson added.

Key Government Contracts
Tait has, over the past several months, led ManTech to multiple contract awards with the U.S. government, positioning his organization to support civilian and defense agencies, as well as the military, by providing technology products and related services.
These contracts include a $1.4 billion task order granted on behalf of the Department of Defense to support the Interagency Intelligence and Cyber Operations Network initiative. The five-year task order calls for the provision of cybersecurity capabilities to benefit clients within the DOD, the intelligence community and other organizations within the government.
“As the proven leader with more than two decades of experience in cybersecurity, we are honored to take on this vital role in supporting our government’s national security mission. Leveraging AI, ManTech’s innovative approach and skilled talent will accelerate mission speed and success across the cyber domain,” Tait had said regarding the award.
ManTech also won a five-year, $715 million contract from the U.S. Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory. Issued via the Department of Defense Information Analysis Center Multiple Award Contract, the deal calls for work that supports technology research, development, testing and evaluation efforts contributing to the Marine Corps Force Design initiative.
The company secured a spot on the FBI Information Technology Supplies and Support Services 2nd Generation blanket purchase agreement contract as well. The deal, which has a maximum value of nearly $8 billion, calls on ManTech to continue providing the FBI and possibly other Department of Justice agencies with various IT services, including artificial intelligence capabilities.
Major Strategic Initiatives
Tait also guided ManTech through a number of strategic initiatives. These initiatives include the formation of the company’s Defense Advisory Board. Comprising former DOD and retired military officials, the board will work to provide insights in support of the company’s efforts to grow in the federal market.
ManTech also established its Federal Civilian Strategic Advisory Board, whose function is to provide advice on how the company could support the mission of its federal civilian clients. The board’s members include government officials who had served in various agencies including the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Small Business Administration.
One key development is the opening of ManTech’s new Innovation and Partnership Center in Hawaii. Also known as the Kumaumau Center, the facility will work to provide capabilities that will help preserve the dominance of U.S. military forces in the Indo-Pacific region. These capabilities include those that mitigate contested logistics, enhance integrated missile systems, advance surveillance and defend against digital and cyber threats.
Celebrating Matthew Tait’s Leadership
These accomplishments were made possible due in no small part to Matthew Tait’s guidance. His leadership and expertise were instrumental in advancing ManTech’s success while providing customers, particularly those in the government, with critical capabilities to achieve their respective missions. This is the kind of leadership that the Wash100 Award honors and celebrates.
Congratulations to Matthew Tait and his team for this third Wash100 win!
