Why Is David Wajsgras Winning the 2026 Wash100 Award?
Wajsgras earns the 2026 Wash100 Award for guiding two critical national security domains through strategic inflection points: space-based communications and cross-domain cybersecurity.
“Dave’s ninth Wash100 Award spanning three different companies demonstrates the elite leadership and business acumen he brings to GovCon. His signature achievement in 2025 was completing the sale of Intelsat to SES, helping create a global communications powerhouse with $4.3 billion in annual revenue and 120 satellites across two orbits,” said Jim Garrettson, CEO of Executive Mosaic and founder of the Wash100 Award.
“Few executives have achieved Dave’s level of success during his career. In addition to being CEO at Intelsat, Dave served as executive vice president and chief financial officer at Lear Corp., and both SVP and CFO and president for intelligence, information and services at industry stalwart Raytheon,” noted Garrettson.
Throughout 2025, he helped shape the future of resilient satellite connectivity as CEO of Intelsat, steering the company through a pivotal transformation and acquisition. Entering 2026, he transitioned to Everfox to lead innovation in secure data sharing, mission systems integration and zero trust modernization for government customers. His leadership across both roles reflects a continued emphasis on transformation and mission-focused technology solutions.
“Dave is tackling a new challenge in 2026 as the chairman and CEO of Everfox, a steady provider of defense-grade cybersecurity. I’m pleased to honor Dave with a Wash100 Award for 2026 and I’m excited for what he has in store for Everfox,” added the chief executive of Executive Mosaic.
A Capstone Year at Intelsat
Before assuming leadership at Everfox, Wajsgras spent much of 2025 guiding Intelsat through one of the most consequential chapters in its history.
Under his leadership, Intelsat accelerated its pivot from a wholesale satellite bandwidth provider to an end-to-end managed services communications leader built around multi-orbit architectures. He positioned the company as a key player in what he described as the “second space race,” emphasizing resilient connectivity, integrated satellite networks and support for humanitarian missions in austere and conflict environments.
Intelsat secured major government wins during this period, including a U.S. Space Force contract to deliver maritime satellite connectivity for the Department of War and a position on the Protected Tactical Satellite Communications-Global contract vehicle, valued at approximately $4 billion. The company also achieved technological milestones such as its historic satellite life-extension mission and a 5G non-terrestrial network demonstration over GEO.
Reflecting on the company’s transformation, Wajsgras wrote in a July LinkedIn post, “When I joined Intelsat, we embarked on a significant strategic pivot to transform and reposition the company for long-term growth; and we did. It’s been an extraordinary journey and one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.” He added, “Leading this team has been an absolute privilege. The future is bright and the best is yet to come.”
The year culminated in SES’s acquisition of Intelsat, following FCC approval of the transaction, solidifying the combined entity’s standing as a global satellite communications leader. With the company’s transformation complete, Wajsgras closed a defining chapter in its evolution.
Entering 2026: Leading Everfox in the Digital Battlespace
In January, Wajsgras stepped into the role of chairman and CEO at Everfox, bringing his transformation experience into the cybersecurity and cross-domain security arena.
As agencies confront increasingly contested cyber and information environments, Everfox’s secure interoperability, zero trust architecture and cross-domain collaboration capabilities are central to operational success.
Expanding Secure Access & Cybersecurity Capabilities
Under Wajsgras’s leadership, Everfox advanced secure cloud access and cross-domain collaboration initiatives. Its Trusted Thin Client for Azure cloud environments earned Microsoft approval as a cross-domain solution for Azure Government and commercial clouds.
“Microsoft’s designation validates Everfox’s long-standing commitment to simplifying secure access in complex, mission-critical environments,” Wajsgras said in a statement. “As agencies modernize and adopt cloud-first strategies, TTC provides scalable access without compromising security or performance. Everfox is proud to be the first to deliver this level of secure interoperability for Azure to empower government and industry to collaborate with speed, flexibility, and trust.”
The company also released its CYBER360: Defending the Digital Battlespace report, which found that 84 percent of government IT security leaders believe sharing sensitive data across networks increases cyber risk, while more than half still rely on manual data transfer processes — highlighting the growing strain on national security organizations as cyberthreats intensify.
“The battlefield is transforming, and data is becoming more and more vital to mission success. Decision advantage now hinges on the capability to share and access data at mission speed without compromising security. A new cybersecurity framework that adds a layer of data-centric security and the ability to quickly share trusted information needs to become the foundation to achieve operational resilience and mission assurance,” said Wajsgras.
What Is Everfox?
Everfox, formerly known as Forcepoint Federal, is a mission-focused provider of secure cross-domain and zero trust technology solutions tailored to defense, intelligence and federal customers. The company’s offerings span secure data sharing, insider threat detection and advanced protection for classified collaboration environments.
Everfox has been actively expanding its capabilities and government market footprint. Its Trusted Thin Client for Azure cloud environments earned Microsoft approval, enabling agencies to deploy secure, scalable cloud access. The company unveiled its MESA cross-domain collaboration platform to accelerate secure information flow across mission environments. Everfox partnered with General Dynamics Information Technology to identify potential insider threats and teamed up with Palantir Technologies to bolster government customers’ command-and-control capabilities. Its collaboration with Virtru to deliver ACP 240-compliant zero trust data security further strengthens multinational interoperability and secure information sharing. To support continued growth across the federal market, the company also appointed key government sales executives.
