Ed Meehan, Chief Operating Officer at Accenture Federal Services, Named to 2018 Wash100 for His Leadership in Advancing Civilian Services
Executive Mosaic is honored to announce Ed Meehan, Chief Operating Officer at Accenture Federal Services as an inductee into the 2018 edition of the Wash100—Executive Mosaic’s annual selection of influential leaders in the government contracting arena–for demonstrating excellence in civilian services.
With nearly three decades of experience, Meehan succeeded John Goodman as COO of Accenture Federal Services in November 2017 after serving as the head of safety and citizen services. He started his career at Accenture in the early ’90s, initially focused on commercial transport before moving to the company’s Federal Services business unit in 2002.
Last year, AFS was awarded a five-year, $232 million contract via the General Services Administration’s Federal Systems Integration and Management Center to help the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) implement its Mission Modernization Program. According to Meehan, the IT system that Accenture deployed provides mobile capabilities and real-time decision-making at USMS, fulfilling the company’s chief goal of building on efficiencies by streamlining business processes, allowing those working in task operations to work more efficiently.
“Our team is committed to helping the USMS create a more-efficient and effective solution that provides mobile and other improved operational capabilities, enabling staff to spend more time in the field rather than on administrative functions,” said Meehan in a press release.
“Over the years, I have, from time to time, certainly played the different roles that make up our civilian portfolio. It’s a chance to put all those pieces together, draw upon the more recent experience supporting federal sales, and being connected into all the different aspects of Accenture and bringing that in a focused way to civilian agencies,” Meehan said in a 2012 ExecutiveBiz interview. “It is very exciting and encouraging that Accenture will be able to continue to help our customers as they face challenges and look to change the status quo.”
Meehan is also a member of the board of directors at The Women’s Center, a non-profit organization specializing in philanthropic support to offer subsidized and free care and support to people in need, regardless of their ability to pay.
