Executive Mosaic is honored to announce Judy Marks, president and CEO of Siemens Government Technologies, as the newest inductee into the Washington 100, the premier group of leaders who drive innovation and growth at the intersection of the public and private sectors.
Marks joined Siemens in March 2011 “to run a business within an innovative company focused on healthcare, energy, infrastructure and industrial technologies – the pressing challenges of our time,” she told GovCon Exec.
“It was an opportunity to join one of the largest, most diversified companies in the world and apply my experience, federal business expertise and leadership skills to a global commercial enterprise operating in 190 countries.”
Over the past two-plus years, Marks has stressed the importance of close working relationships within the company as critical to the company’s growth.
While working to “align COTS offerings with federal customer needs,” Marks told GovCon Exec she has focused on collaboration inside Siemens as a means to accelerate product and service offerings.
That emphasis extends to players outside of the company as well.
“Key to contributing to our growth has been developing partnerships and go-to-market channels ranging from being a prime contractor to engaging existing industrial channel partners, to relationships with systems integrators to contracting to and through small businesses,” Mark said.

Her dynamic vision for growth extends to her own own position, where “my responsibilities continue to evolve and grow due to the cross-Siemens involvement and offerings we can bring to the federal market.”
Siemens Government Services acts as an integrator for Siemens’ products, technologies, services and financing models into federal government projects.
That requires a consistent effort to “apply leadership skills to our federal team and the global Siemens enterprise and translating federal vocabulary and terms with a federally knowledgeable team,” Marks said.
As she looks forward, Marks is quick to point to the strength of that team as a motivator in her role.
“We are developing the talent and innovation needed to add immediate value, and I’m in a place to guide that and apply it for our federal customers in today’s budget-constrained times.”
Prior to joining Siemens, Marks held strategy, capture management, business development and program management leadership roles over 27 years with Lockheed Martin.
She elevated to the president position within two operating divisions while at Lockheed and began her career with IBM Federal systems.
