David Moskovitz, CEO Accenture Federal Services, Named to Washington100 as Transformative GovCon Leader
Executive Mosaic is honored to announce David Moskovitz, chief executive of Accenture Federal Services, as the newest inductee into the Washington 100, the premier group of leaders who drive innovation and execute strategic vision at the intersection of the public and private sectors.
Moskovitz has spent more than 30 years in the public sector arena and has transformed his deep passion for public service into holding responsibility for every aspect of Accenture’s federal business.
He is celebrating his first full year in the chief executive role and joined Accenture as an executive leader in 1994 after working for 12 years with the City of New York, where as a Deputy Commissioner Moskovitz helped lead a 3,000-person division responsible for managing the city’s infrastructure.
“Coming to a company with a culture of delivery was the perfect transition for me,” Moskovitz told GovCon Exec.
“It also allowed me to continue working to support the public sector, first building the New York City business then leading our U.S. state and local government practice and the growth and strategy lead for our Health & Public Service operating group.”
Moskovitz says the government is at “a critical inflection point” as increasing pressure to better interact with citizens and execute missions while meeting lower budgets.
“Smaller government is inevitable,” Moskovitz said. “Leaders who move beyond debating this to embracing new ways to deliver their missions in this ‘new normal’ will be the winners. We are very excited to be working with our clients who need to be both bold and realistic.”

Moskovitz said Accenture Federal is focused on a handful on key priorities and singled out the growing area of military health as “a tremendous opportunity to contribute in very important and significant ways.”
“My vision for AFS is to be the very best service provider in the marketplace – renowned for helping our clients solve the nation’s most pressing and complex challenges,” Moskovitz added.
In his growth and strategy roles, Moskovitz has been responsible for growing all aspects of health and public service business, and has overseen related research, innovation programs and investments.
Outside of the office, Moskovtiz chairs the board of trustees for the Center for Employment Opportunities, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing immediate, effective and comprehensive employment services to men and women returning home from prison.
“As AFS people, we all share a special passion for giving back to our communities,” Moskovitz said.
“Within the larger federal ecosystem, we all play significant roles — and will continue making important contributions — by being leaders and contributors in our communities. This is especially important to me.”
