John Mengucci, president and CEO for CACI International, was presented his 2022 Wash100 Award by Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson during a recent visit to the company’s office.
Executive Mosaic is excited to announce and recognize John Mengucci as a three-time winner of the most prestigious award in all of government contracting (GovCon), which is a testament to his innovative vision and accomplishments in support of technology investment leadership.
John Mengucci, who has acted as the president and CEO of CACI since July 2019, has received the Wash100 Award for the third straight year for his efforts to develop the company’s growth strategy as well as drive new business through critical contract award wins and acquisitions.
Most recently, CACI secured a potential five-year task order from the U.S. Army, worth up to $514 million, to modernize outside plant infrastructure and facilities that support data communication networks.
Under the task order awarded through General Services Administration’s Alliant 2 contract vehicle, CACI will work with the service branch to develop and install an underground fiber optic cable platform intended to facilitate voice, data and video distribution through command and control systems.
Mengucci explained when the task order was announced in January that CACI will update data communications infrastructure for the U.S. Army using modern networking standards, software, analytics and security tools.
In addition, CACI announced the acquisition of SA Photonics, to expand the company’s existing photonics portfolio and drive its offerings in the proliferated low-earth-orbit market. During a recent Executive Spotlight interview, Mengucci detailed the importance of CACI expanding into the space market to develop robust technologies for our customers.
“Together, our combined transformative technology and advanced manufacturing enable us to deliver innovation in laser communications for customers ranging from national security to human spaceflight and across all domains,” Mengucci highlighted the influence that the acquisition of SA Photonics will have on its customers and CACI’s space portfolio in the future.
Prior to his appointment as president and CEO, Mengucci served as the company’s chief operating officer where he was responsible for developing and implementing CACI’s market-aligned strategy, deploying resources in areas of growth, creating the company’s recruiting and retention plan and integrating strategic acquisitions that were critical to CACI’s strong operational performance.
