Xavier Williams, President of ATamp;T’s Public Sector and Wholesale Solutions, Named to 2019 Wash100 for Leading Growth in Emerging Technology amp; Culture

Executive Mosaic is honored to announce Xavier Williams, president of AT&T’s public sector and wholesale solutions, as an inductee into the 2019 edition of Wash100 — Executive Mosaic’s annual selection of influential leaders in the government contracting arena — for leading AT&T’s culture, advancing technology modernization and helping to grow the company. This marks Williams’ second consecutive Wash100 award.

Williams assumed his role in October 2017 and supports the telecommunications conglomerate’s government and education customers across federal, local, state and international markets.

In November 2017, AT&T won a spot on Alliant 2 – the General Services Administration’s potential $50B governmentwide acquisition contract for information technology products and services. Williams added that the company is looking to help customer agencies virtualize and equip networks with cybersecurity, mobility, IoT, analytics and cloud access tools through the contract.

“Alliant 2 presents a key opportunity for federal agencies to take a network-first approach to IT system modernization,” Williams said. “Effective technology modernization starts with network.

"Our experts are ready and eager to help agencies modernize and virtualize their networks to improve mission delivery.”

In an interview with Authority Magazine, the 28-year industry veteran stressed the importance of having a healthy culture within an organization to support employee development.

“So, our culture must inspire the team to think bigger and broader — to go beyond like for like and really help each customer meet its mission,” Williams said. Encourage your employees to always be curious. Give them chances to reskill themselves, to learn and grow continuously, to try new things and to fail (so long as they learn from it).”

Williams mentioned AT&T’s selection by the First Responder Network Authority to build a national public safety broadband network and the company’s position on GSA’s $50B Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions contract.

“This makes it easier for federal agencies to get the advanced solutions they need to stay ahead of technology trends, innovate and improve the way they deliver their missions,” he said of the EIS vehicle.

Since joining AT&T, he has held senior leadership roles such as president of business operations, head of public sector and health care organization and vice president of federal sales.

Executive Mosaic congratulates Xavier Williams and his team at AT&T’s public sector group for receiving this award.
