Maximus Federal President, GM Tom Romeo Receives Third Wash100 Award

Tom Romeo, president and general manager of Maximus’ federal division, received his third Wash100 Award for driving revenue for the company, innovative technology for the future and to improve federal agencies capabilities from within to enhance citizen engagement.

Romeo’s leadership, including more than 30 years of experience in the government contracting (GovCon) sector, he’s been responsible for all operations, financial and business development activities for Maximus’ federal business, which has led to an extensive client portfolio and substantial growth for the company.

Much of the focus on his last Wash100 Award win in 2017 was about the next era of citizen engagement. He argued that delivering the next era wasn’t just about making new technologies available to the public.

“It is also about providing an experience that is integrated, user-friendly, and allows the public to get their problem solved via their channel of choice. The transition to a citizen-centric approach will require making new investments, embracing new disciplines, and a renewed focus on business process and outcomes,” he explained.

In Feb. 2020, Romeo continued to advocate for this mission by stressing the importance of adoption, especially as new technologies transform the way citizens apply and receive health care benefits. He also emphasized the importance of implementing automation technologies such as robotic process automation and artificial intelligence by federal agencies to address more requests and improve the delivery of services to citizens.

“In 2020, automation will be applied to further eliminate repetitive, manual tasks for employees, who can instead focus on more strategic work,” Romeo wrote. “It will also be leveraged to enhance self-service tools for citizens so they can access government services how, when and where they choose.”

Executive Mosaic congratulates Tom Romeo and Maximus for their accomplishments that have led to a third Wash100 Award. Romeo’s leadership has led to significant growth for the company while also driving for the future of RPA, AI, machine learning and IT technology to improve the processes and capabilities of federal agencies.
