The COVID-19 Pandemic has exasperated CIOs' need to increase the speed of change in the technology landscape. Modernizing cyber, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, information technology (IT), data, and machine learning are currently the top priorities for CIOs across the GovCon sector to maintain competitive advantage.

Featuring 2021 Wash100 Award recipient Juliane Gallina is the Central Intelligence Agency's (CIA) chief information officer and the Information Technology Enterprise director (D/ITE). As CIO, Gallina oversees all CIA IT systems, personnel and global communication network. She is heavily involved in growing CIA and industry partnerships that ensure the agency can access cutting-edge digital technology.

Before serving as CIA’s CIO, Gallina worked as vice president of IBM’s US Federal Key Accounts, including the intelligence community, Department of Homeland Security, Justice and Defense. Also, she managed IBM's Federal Health and Bureau of Fiscal Services accounts.
At IBM, her business units provided cloud, hybrid cloud, enterprise security, analytics and AI software solutions. Gallina spearheaded multiple efforts to prototype and scale-out AI technology to global national security clients.
Prior to joining IBM, Gallina was a CIA Directorate of Science and Technology (DST) officer assigned to the National Reconnaissance Office. As a DST officer, she held management positions in the Signals Intelligence, Directorate, Communications Directorate and Legislative Affairs and Advanced Science and Technology Directorate. At the NRO, Gallina worked on the design, development, launch and operation of space-based reconnaissance systems and their ground-based counterparts.
Gallina graduated as a naval officer from the US Naval Academy and was the first woman to lead a midshipmen brigade. She also holds master's degrees in Space Systems and Electrical Engineering.
The Forum will also feature David Shive of U.S. General Services and Mark Andress of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency as keynote speakers.
