Palantir USG CTO Aki Jain Receives 2026 Wash100 Award

Aki Jain, president and chief technology officer of Palantir USG, has accepted his second Wash100 Award from Jim Garrettson, Executive Mosaic CEO and founder of the Wash100 Award.

Jain’s latest Wash100 recognition celebrates his two decades of accomplishments at the company, beginning when it was little more than a start-up, while commending his anticipated impact in the year ahead.

“Aki has spent the past 20 years shaping Palantir into a dependable partner for Department of War in critical emerging technologies,” said Garrettson, who visited Palantir’s Georgetown office in Washington, D.C., to present the award.

Why Did Aki Jain Win the 2026 Wash100 Award?

Jain’s selection centers on his efforts in deepening Palantir’s role in operationalizing artificial intelligence and data across defense environments, particularly where speed, scale and integration matter most.

Over the past year, the company reinforced its position in Army modernization through continued deployment of its Maven Smart System, while advancing TITAN — short for the Tactical Intelligence Targeting Access Node — a software-centric system built to process sensor data from space, high altitude, aerial and terrestrial layers and provide intelligence support to targeting and situational awareness.

Jain previously said TITAN “is a live system that is going to continue to get better, and that is different for the Army and for this type of technology.”

Palantir also secured contracts supporting space command and control and enterprise-wide data platforms, extending its reach in areas where decision advantage depends on integrating fragmented information streams.

Building a Software Backbone for Defense Missions

Beyond individual programs, Jain’s influence is visible in how Palantir scales its technology.

The company expanded its collaboration efforts in defense manufacturing and readiness, including initiatives to digitally connect supply chains and accelerate production timelines through partnerships with AnthropicEverfoxSAP NS2Accenture Federal ServicesDeloitteDatabricksVoyagerExigerCubic and SNC.

At the same time, Palantir continued to secure authorizations enabling its platforms to operate across classified, cloud and edge environments. It previously obtained Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Level 2, enabling the company to secure defense contracts involving controlled unclassified information. Recently, the Defense Information Systems Agency authorized Palantir Federal Cloud Service Forward, extending its Impact Level 5 and Impact Level 6 provisional authorizations to on-premises and edge deployments.

Who Is Aki Jain?

Jain joined Palantir in 2005 as a software engineer and helped build the Gotham platform. Over time, he led the deployment and iteration of Palantir’s software across the U.S. defense and intelligence communities and with international partners.

Today, as president and CTO of Palantir USG, he leads the company’s research and development direction, focusing on AI, machine learning, data integration and edge deployment capabilities.

His technical expertise includes performance, scalability, security, cloud architecture, hybrid deployment models and edge solutions. Jain graduated from Stanford University in 2003 with a degree in computer science.

What Is the Wash100 Award?

The Wash100 Award recognizes leaders are shaping the direction of government, technology and national security priorities.

Each year, the selection includes individuals influencing how agencies adopt innovation, manage complexity and deliver outcomes across the public sector.

Jain’s second Wash100 recognition signals the growing importance of software as a defining layer in modern defense strategy. As missions increasingly depend on data, AI and real-time decision-making, his leadership continues to shape how those capabilities are built and used.

Executive Mosaic congratulates Aki Jain on his 2026 Wash100 Award.
