Northrop’s Kathy Warden Receives 7th Wash100 Award From Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson

Kathy Warden, chair, president and CEO of Northrop Grumman, was presented her 2022 Wash100 Award by Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson during a recent visit to the company’s office in Falls Church, Virginia.

Executive Mosaic is proud to recognize Kathy Warden as a seven-time winner of the prestigious Wash100 Award, the most prized award in all of government contracting (GovCon),  for leading Northrop Grumman’s capital allocation strategy and implementation as well as the expansion of its space systems business.

Most recently, Northrop Grumman posted approximately $8.6 billion in sales, which is a three percent increase in organic sales for the 2021 fiscal year, as a result of the strong performance of the company’s space and mission systems segments.

“So we really are seeing space growth to be quite balanced, even in 2023 — or 2022, but even more so as we look forward to 2023. And we expect it to continue to be one of, if not the fastest-growing sector for the foreseeable future,” Warden explained.

The company’s full-year net awards reached $32.1 billion, while its total backlog was $76 billion. Kathy Warden highlighted that the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent program has been a key component of growth within its space systems segment in the last two years.

“Looking forward, our business remains well aligned to growing global defense budgets, and with a robust backlog and new competitive wins, we expect continued sales growth,” she added.

In addition, Warden commented on the recent launch of the James Webb Space Telescope, built by a Northrop Grumman-led industry team with NASA to begin a “new era in human discovery.”

“Since the dawn of the space age, NASA, international partner agencies and industry partners, together with Northrop Grumman, have been defining what is possible in space science and exploration,” said Warden. ”The James Webb Space Telescope will transform into an awe-inspiring scientific tool that will usher in a new era in human discovery.”

Executive Mosaic is proud to recognize Northrop Grumman and Kathy Warden for being named a 2022 Wash100 Award recipient. As a seven-time winner of the most coveted award in GovCon, Warden has demonstrated an elite level of accomplishment and contribution to the GovCon community that can only be recognized by the Wash100 Award.
