Air Force’s Hon. Andrew Hunter Receives 2023 Wash100 Award at POC Air Force Summit

The Honorable Andrew Hunter, assistant secretary of the Air Force for acquisition, technology and logistics, accepted his 2023 Wash100 Award from Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson during the Potomac Officers Club’s recent 2023 Air Force Summit.

The Wash100 Award annually recognizes the top 100 most impactful leaders and innovators from government and industry for their contributions to critical government missions and initiatives. Hunter earned his first Wash100 Award this year for demonstrating outstanding leadership in spearheading the Air Force’s research, development and acquisition activities.

During his keynote fireside chat at the POC Air Force Summit, Hunter spoke about the importance of expanding the service’s industrial base to “non-traditional” partners in order to achieve innovation at speed.

“We have to shape the innovation base by reaching out to non-traditional suppliers who have innovative technologies we need and who are able to…work with our more traditional partners to deliver the capabilities that only they can provide significantly faster than we have historically,” he shared.
