Palo Alto Networks Public Sector SVP Dana Barnes Presented 2021 Wash100 Award By Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson

Dana Barnes, senior vice president of the Public Sector with Palo Alto Networks, was presented his first Wash100 Award, the most respected and valued award in all of government contracting (GovCon), during a recent visit to the company’s headquarters in Reston, VA by Jim Garrettson, CEO of Executive Mosaic and founder of the Wash100 Award.

Executive Mosaic recognized Barnes’ success with a 2021 Wash100 Award for driving digital transformation and his thought leadership across the technology and GovCon sectors.

Barnes was appointed to his current role with Palo Alto Networks in Sept. 2020, where he leads the delivery of mission critical cybersecurity solutions for his team and the company’s clients.

In an interview regarding his transition from Microsoft to Palo Alto Networks, Barnes noted that coaching youth ice hockey prepared him for his leadership transition and that coaching youth sports taught him that he knew his job was to listen, learn and create an environment that is conducive for his teammates to succeed when he joined the company.

Barnes’ initiatives and strong leadership have driven state governments to modernize, gain efficiencies and achieve more for all constituents. With Palo Alto Networks, Barnes has spearheaded several notable digital priorities.

“As hundreds of U.S. government and defense agencies trust Palo Alto Networks to safeguard their operations, data and missions, we’re dedicated to delivering the solutions to meet their needs,” Barnes explained.

Executive Mosaic congratulates both Dana Barnes and Palo Alto Networks for his first Wash100 Award. Barnes’ strong leadership across the technology industry, as well as support for advanced digital initiatives, has cemented his position in the GovCon sector, and will continue to influence the marketplace throughout the rest of 2021 and beyond.
