Roy Azevedo, president of Raytheon Technologies' intelligence and space business, was presented with his 2022 Wash100 Award by Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson during a recent visit to the company’s office in Arlington, VA.
Executive Mosaic is honored to recognize Roy Azevedo as a three-time Wash100 Award recipient, for driving business growth through major contract wins, technology development efforts, workforce and facility expansion as well as acquisition and partnership activities.
For the past three consecutive years, Azevedo has received the highest honor in all of government contracting (GovCon), which demonstrates the level of leadership and commitment that he’s reached in support of the GovCon community to drive our industry forward.
Roy Azevedo is responsible for over 37,000 employees as president of Raytheon Intelligence & Space. He draws on more than 30 years of executive experience in aerospace and defense to lead a broad portfolio, including advanced sensors, training as well as cyber and software solutions.
In addition, Azevedo serves on the boards of directors for Raytheon Saudi Arabia, Raytheon United Kingdom and Raytheon Australia. He is the chairman of RAYPAC, the company’s employee-funded political action committee.
Most recently, Raytheon Intelligence & Space announced the launch of Department 22, a strategic business unit focused on rapidly developing next-generation military technologies in order to widen the capability gap over our nation’s near-peer adversaries.
Department 22 also plans to hire more than 400 engineers, scientists, and technologists by end of the year. Prior to the department’s launch, the division has operated in relative anonymity under a range of names over the last two decades, including the most recent Advanced Concepts.
