SGT CEO John Ustica Accepts 2026 Wash100 Award

John Ustica, president and CEO of Siemens Government Technologies, has received the 2026 Wash100 Award, marking his fourth consecutive win and recognizing his leadership in advancing energy resiliency, digital transformation and industrial modernization across federal agencies.

Jim Garrettson, CEO of Executive Mosaic and founder of the Wash100 Award, presented the award to Ustica during a recent visit to the SGT office in Arlington, Virginia.

Why Did John Ustica Win the 2026 Wash100 Award?

Ustica was selected for his continued leadership in driving modernization initiatives that support national security, infrastructure resilience and digital engineering across the federal landscape.

Garrettson highlighted Ustica’s sustained impact over nearly eight years leading SGT and his role in securing major contract wins and advancing innovative approaches to complex government challenges.

“John’s sustained leadership over nearly eight years has reinforced Siemens Government Technologies’ reputation as a trusted provider of federally compliant systems and solutions,” Garrettson said. “He has secured major wins, including a position on the FBI’s potential $400 million contract vehicle to modernize building energy systems.”

“He has also advanced innovative approaches to complex challenges, including a ‘right to repair’ remuneration model that enables field manufacturing of critical parts while protecting intellectual property,” he added.

Garrettson further emphasized Ustica’s influence across the GovCon community and his continued momentum.

“His service on multiple industry boards reflects the broad respect he has earned across the GovCon community,” he said. “John’s 2026 Wash100 Award—his fourth consecutive—underscores his continued impact and leadership.”

Who Is John Ustica?

Ustica is a longtime GovCon leader with more than two decades of experience at Siemens. He joined SGT in 2018 as senior vice president and chief financial officer and was named president and CEO in 2022.

As head of SGT, Ustica leads efforts to deliver Siemens technologies that help federal agencies tackle challenges in energy, automation and digitalization. Under his leadership, the company has supported projects generating more than $1 billion in energy savings while improving operational efficiency and mission outcomes. SGT has also expanded its federal footprint, including work on the Missile Defense Agency’s $151 billion SHIELD contract, while advancing the use of digital twins and product lifecycle management tools to enhance predictive analytics and modernization efforts.

Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles spanning finance, operations and strategy, supporting advanced engineering, manufacturing and global generator programs.

He currently serves on the boards of the Northern Virginia Technology Council, the Professional Services Council and Tri-Tool Inc.
