Why Did Stephanie Mango Win the 2026 Wash100 Award?
Proven Leadership & Strategic Vision
Mango’s 2026 Wash100 Award reflects her role in delivering high-impact modernization outcomes, including advancing the Federal Aviation Administration’s aviation safety initiatives and supporting major defense priorities such as the Golden Dome missile defense effort.
Major FAA & Defense Contract Awards
Under Mango’s leadership, CGI Federal secured several federal contracts in 2025. The company was selected to modernize the FAA’s Notice to Airmen, or NOTAM, system, strengthening aviation safety and enhancing information sharing across the National Airspace System.
CGI Federal also expanded its defense footprint through the Missile Defense Agency’s Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense, or SHIELD, program, earning a place in the second tranche of awards under the $151 billion contract vehicle supporting the Golden Dome initiative.
Additionally, the company’s strategic growth and capability expansion, particularly through its acquisition of Aeyon and continued involvement in high-priority government programs such as the Navy’s Financial Improvement Program IV, highlight Mango’s ability to drive mission-critical outcomes across government modernization, defense and enterprise services.
AI-Driven Government Modernization
Mango has also led CGI Federal’s efforts to advance emerging technology and artificial intelligence-driven modernization across government through initiatives such as the launch of its Fraud, Waste and Abuse Prevention Platform with TrackLight and its addition to the GSA FM QSMO Marketplace, expanding federal access to real-time, AI-driven fraud prevention.
The company also supported the Department of Veterans Affairs’ expansion of the Integrated Financial and Acquisition Management System, or iFAMS, underscoring its role in modernizing financial and acquisition operations at scale.
These efforts align with CGI Federal’s broader stance on AI adoption, as company leaders emphasize that effective modernization requires a strategic ecosystem approach that integrates AI within a connected network of capabilities rather than treating it as a standalone technology.
