Executive Mosaic is pleased to select Carahsoft President Craig Abod to its 2026 Wash100 Award list for his impressive, continued business growth in the midst of a shifting federal landscape.

A 12-time Wash100 Award winner, Abod continues to exemplify why he remains one of the most visionary and effective leaders in the federal IT sector. With a new administration ushering in fresh priorities, Abod has rallied Carahsoft and its partners to reemphasize the value of their solutions and deepen their impact on public sector innovation.

The stakes are high. National security, public health, education and government operations depend on technology that works flawlessly, securely, and at scale.

Why Is Craig Abod Winning the 2026 Wash100 Award?

“Craig’s 12th Wash100 Award—and an incredible 10th consecutive honor—is a truly remarkable achievement and a testament to the lasting impact he continues to have across GovCon. As president of Carahsoft and a familiar, celebrated presence in Wash100 classes year after year, Craig helped drive major momentum in 2025, including a standout award to deliver cloud-based ServiceNow enterprise tools to the Air Force,” remarked Wash100 Founder and Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson.

“Craig’s vision, commitment to partnership and consistent focus on innovation and mission success set an exceptional standard for leadership and excellence in federal contracting. This milestone recognition further reinforces his status as one of the most influential and trusted leaders in the GovCon ecosystem,” Garrettson continued.

What Are Some of Craig Abod’s Recent Achievements?

Business Growth and Alignment With New Government Priorities

Carahsoft has continued its trajectory of consistent double-digit growth since its founding in 2004, closing $22.5 billion in 2025 bookings, and posting lifetime bookings of $125 billion — a milestone that reflects two decades of strategic, sustained success.

Under Abod’s direction, Carahsoft has launched, expanded and is enabling 30-plus specialized technology and customer verticals to meet the evolving needs of public sector customers. These verticals include cybersecurity, FedRAMP, GovRAMP, multi-cloud, DevSecOps, artificial intelligence, open-source intelligence, customer experience and engagement, datacenter solutions, 5G, quantum, and IoT/OT, quantum computing, unmanned aerial systems and first responder technologies.

These teams are structured to provide domain-specific expertise and streamlined procurement support, ensuring that government agencies can rapidly adopt solutions that align with their mission objectives. Carahsoft has also built out its Technology by Policy website to help both vendors and their government customers map technology solutions to specific policy requirements.

In addition, in 2025, Carahsoft onboarded 300-400 new partners — many of them startups and growth-stage companies — and continues to support more than 1,000 vendors in total. Abod’s philosophy is rooted in ecosystem enablement: every company has the potential to become a strategic partner, and Carahsoft serves as a trusted bridge between innovation and government need.

Empowering Emerging Technology Companies

Abod has consistently opened the door for new and emerging tech vendors to access the public sector market and is doubling down on supporting these companies by helping them launch and execute successfully in the public sector. Through training, huge investments in marketing, and strategic advisory services, Carahsoft empowers smaller vendors to succeed in the complex federal marketplace. This support is a cornerstone of Abod’s inclusive and growth-oriented approach to leadership.

Expanding Access and Engagement

With major conferences scaled back and travel budgets constrained, Abod turned a potential setback into a catalyst for deeper engagement. Carahsoft’s headquarters in Reston has become the Carahsoft Conference & Collaboration Center, a hub for government and industry collaboration, welcoming more than 50,000 visitors over the last year alone.

Abod’s leadership is grounded in a rare blend of principle and performance. He has built a company that thrives at scale while remaining committed to the success of every partner in the ecosystem.

What Does Carahsoft Have Coming on the Horizon?

Accelerating Technology Verticals

Abod continues pushing forward with a team of 4,000, bringing immense capabilities around each one of those 30-plus specialized technology and customer vertical segments, and connecting more than 1,000 partners to federal, state, local and education agencies through robust reseller and integrator networks. This brings numerous capabilities around each one of the technology vertical segments, both for larger vendors as well as the thousand emerging tech companies that Carahsoft serves.

Contracts Expansion

Carahsoft has one of the largest contracts teams in the business, managing hundreds and hundreds of contracts that the company itself holds, as well as the hundreds of other contracts that it brings to partners, reseller partners and that it makes available to its vendors.

Carahsoft is supporting 16 of its vendors (Adobe, AWS, Anthropic, Box, Cohesity, DocuSign, Elastic, Google Gemini, Microsoft, Palo Alto, OpenAI, SAP, ServiceNow, Slack, Tenable and Xai), helping to negotiate and provide contract access on the OneGov program for their solutions, all of which are on Carahsoft’s GSA schedule.

Philanthropic Impact

Abod’s philanthropic impact is unmatched in both scale and authenticity, and he has ensured Carahsoft remains a key supporter of the IC, veteran and military-affiliated communities. Additionally, he has created a culture where every employee is empowered to contribute, every department plays a role in service, and every partner has an opportunity to align their business with doing good. He doesn’t treat philanthropy as a PR campaign; it’s part of how Carahsoft operates, grows and leads with purpose.

What Is Carahsoft?

For more than two decades, Carahsoft has been the trusted partner to the public sector, connecting agencies and organizations with the technology they need to drive change. Carahsoft bridges the gap among thousands of leading technology vendors, resellers, and system integrators, delivering tailored IT solutions for federal, state, and local governments, as well as education and healthcare organizations.

In a year of transition and renewed purpose in the public sector, Abod is not only meeting the moment — he is expanding its potential as he continues to support new customers, vendors, resellers and integrators in Carahsoft’s ecosystem.

Through It All…

Abod’s mantra remains: “We are here to bring scale and speed to help our government customers find great technology, acquire great technology and implement it successfully. On behalf of the Carahsoft Team, I am honored to receive this year’s Wash100 Award!”

Executive Mosaic congratulates Craig Abod and the entire Carahsoft team for winning the award.
