Peraton CEO Steve Schorer Secures 3rd Wash100 Win for Fostering Innovation to Support National Security

Executive Mosaic is pleased to announce the addition of Steve Schorer, chairman, president and CEO of Peraton, to the 2025 class of the Wash100 Award, an accolade conferred annually to the 100 most influential and impactful leaders in the government contracting industry.

Choose Steve Schorer as your favorite GovCon industry leader. Join the 2025 Wash100 Popular Vote Competition! Voting closes on April 30.

This marks the third time that Schorer has been selected to Executive Mosaic’s annual list of the top 100 leaders from the government and GovCon business, recognizing his leadership in advancing business growth and promoting innovation to address technology challenges facing U.S. government and military agencies and support agency customers’ national security missions.

“It’s with great pleasure that I welcome Steve back to the Wash100,” Jim Garrettson, CEO of Executive Mosaic, said regarding Schorer’s latest win.

“As Peraton’s new leader, Schorer brings a track record of success from Dyncorp, the former L3 Communications and Veritas Capital, where he developed a mastery in M&A and a deep understanding of the national security space. In just a short time, Steve is already driving results, securing key contracts supporting military operations in Africa, classified space and intel work, and a massive $12 billion win from the Defense Logistics Agency. His leadership is setting the stage for Peraton’s next era, and I’m excited to see where Steve takes the company,” added Garrettson, who founded the Wash100 Award.

Taking the Helm at Peraton

In September 2024, Schorer succeeded Stu Shea, an eight-time Wash100 awardee, as chairman, president and CEO of Veritas Capital portfolio company Peraton.

Ramzi Musallam, CEO and managing partner of Veritas Capital, welcomed Schorer’s appointment as chief executive of Peraton.

“His extensive industry expertise and experience leading some of the world’s premier government technology services organizations make him the ideal person to drive Peraton’s next important phase of growth,” Musallam said of Schorer.

“We look forward to working closely alongside him as Peraton continues to deliver on its mission to solve the U.S. Government’s most complex technology and information challenges,” the 10-time Wash100 Award recipient added.

Schorer said he is honored to have the opportunity to oversee Peraton as it continues to help protect U.S. interests and advance transformation amid rapidly changing challenges.

“I look forward to working alongside the talented team at Peraton to develop and deliver solutions to support our customers’ most vital missions and to manage their most valued technology assets,” the chief executive added.

Major Contract Wins in 2024

Peraton booked several notable government and military contracts in the past year, including a spot on a $4 billion contract with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency for the development of tech platforms for combating weapons of mass destruction; a position on the second iteration of the FBI’s $8 billion IT Supplies and Support Services blanket purchase agreement; and a spot on the potential $12 billion J6 Enterprise Technology Services 2.0 contract to provide IT services for the Defense Logistics Agency and other Department of Defense components.

In September 2024, Peraton was selected as one of the eight Pool 1 awardees on the $33.2 billion Information Analysis Center multiple award contract to provide mission-critical research and development support services across DOD.

Under Schorer’s leadership, Peraton secured a potential five-year, $249 million Navy task order in December to supply Long-Range Sub Orbital Vehicles, or LSOVs, to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme Division.

The Reston, Virginia-based tech company will work with Northrop Grumman, Invocon and Hainz Engineering Services on the LSOV project.

The Peraton executive called the LSOV program a strategic step for the company and the country. He noted that the award not only highlights military partners’ trust in Peraton but also the hard work and dedication of the company’s team.

“We are committed to delivering innovative solutions and this program will provide a test bed for developing new missile defense capabilities and enhance our global posture. We are ready to meet the challenges ahead with integrity and excellence,” Schorer added.

In December 2024, Peraton was listed as one of the awardees under the second rolling awards process for the unrestricted track of the General Services Administration’s One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services Plus, or OASIS+, contract program.

“We are excited to be selected by the GSA to continue as an industry partner under OASIS+ to provide services, technologies, and capabilities that can further serve to advance the Government’s missions,” said the chairman of Peraton. “This public-private partnership creates the conditions to further deliver high-quality, reliable, and efficient services on behalf of the American people.”

Recognizing Veterans’ Contributions

Peraton employs more than 4,000 veterans, active duty service members and reservists who continue to support critical national security missions. In 2024, veterans accounted for 23 percent of the company’s new hires.

“On my first Veterans Day at Peraton, I want to emphasize the profound impact these individuals have on our organization. Veterans enrich the can-do culture at Peraton and drive us toward greater excellence, reflecting our enduring commitment to mission and shared dedication to service,” Schorer said.
