Robin Lineberger, Deloitte Principal, A&D, Inducted into Washington 100
Lineberger joined Deloitte in 2009 as CEO of Deloitte Federal Services after its acquisition of Bearing Point‘s public sector business in May 2009, where he led the government business.
“It was very natural for me to join Deloitte with the entire Bearing Point team,” he told GovConExec.
Lineberger led Deloitte’s integration of Bearing Point in the CEO role and led four more acquisitions of companies specializing in areas including geospatial, e-Disovery and information technology services prior to transitioning in June 2013 into Deloitte’s commercial A&D market as a senior advisor to Deloitte’s key executive clients.
“On the business side, the federal practice grew 7 to 8 percent during the fiscal year that just concluded in May, despite the significant head winds resulting from sequestration,” Lineberger noted.
He also highlighted the I-ediscovery pick up “as a first step to position the firm to win a spot on the recently awarded Mega 4 contract. Which we did this summer, a first for our firm.”

The U.S. Air Force veteran said he has worked in three distinct ways to grow Delotite’s business since joining the firm:
- bringing commercial industry capability to Deloitte’s federal clients
- bringing the full set of Deloitte capabilities to existing clients
- extending into adjacent markets for clients and services through organic development or through acquisitions
As he looks forward, he sees opportunity and renewed possibilities working back “out in the marketplace.”
“I am most excited about the prospect of getting back to client services. Working more closely with the executives of the major A&D firms as they pivot around the declining defense budgets and look for growth areas here and abroad.”
And on a personal level, “I appreciate most the opportunity to be involved, again, with the Warrior Games presented by Deloitte, where my daughter Sydney joined me as a volunteer.”
