KBR’s Byron Bright Receives 3rd Consecutive Wash100 Award From Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson

KBR’s Byron Bright Receives 3rd Consecutive Wash100 Award From Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson

Byron Bright, president of the government solutions business at KBR, recently received his 2022 Wash100 Award, the highest honor in all of government contracting (GovCon), for his leadership in driving KBR’s military technology engineering, development, support and sustainment efforts in areas such as space, cyber and data analytics.

Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson officially presented Byron Bright with his third consecutive Wash100 win, the award that has recognized the most significant executives of consequence to the GovCon industry for the last nine years, during a recent visit to KBR’s office in Fairfax, VA.

The Wash100 Award has acted as the standard of recognition and success in the GovCon sector to acknowledge the accomplishments of the elite federal leaders in our industry and to recognize the executives who are expected to make the most significant contributions in the year to come.

Most notably, Bright led KBR’s Government Solutions segment through its business unit rebrand in February 2021 after the $800 million all-cash acquisition of Centauri

“The fastest-growing areas of our business were our science and space unit, and our defense and intelligence unit,” said Bright. “Our focus on military space, cyber and data analytics, digital engineering and applying a lot of these tools, we see all of those things as remaining strong with our customers,” he added.

During a recent Executive Spotlight interview with ExecutiveBiz, Byron Bright discussed the core values of the KBR’s culture that have driven success in such a competitive market. Bright also discussed the work KBR has done to expand space technology capabilities and its recent quarterly performance to drive company growth.

ExecutiveBiz: Following the success of your recent quarterly results, what were the key factors that led to that company-wide performance and how will you continue to work to capitalize on that success moving forward?

Byron Bright: “As the federal government thinks through the future of sustainability, what is that going to mean for the U.S. military and how they can support and make an impact in terms of how things operate at that level is top of mind? It’s one of the key things that is different about KBR. I think it gives us greater value to add back to our employees and customers.”

Executive Mosaic is proud to recognize KBR and Byron Bright for being named a 2022 Wash100 Award recipient. As a three-time winner of the most coveted award in GovCon, Bright has demonstrated a level of success and recognition that can only be recognized by the Wash100 Award and the GovCon community.
