Jim Garrettson, CEO of Executive Mosaic, Presents Leanne Caret, President and CEO of Boeing Defense, Space and Security, Her Third Consecutive Wash100 Award

Jim Garrettson, founder and CEO of Executive Mosaic, presented Leanne Caret, president and CEO of Boeing Defense, Space and Security, with her third consecutive Wash100 Award on Monday. 

Executive Mosaic recognizes Caret for leading and expanding Boeing’s portfolio of defense contracts and space platforms. We are pleased to present the most coveted award in government contracting to Leanne Caret. 

Caret has served as the executive vice president of Boeing and as president and chief executive officer of defense, space and security since February 2016. She leads the $21 billion business that provides integrated solutions to meet the needs of defense, government, space, intelligence and security customers in the U.S. and abroad.

Caret joined Boeing in 1988 and held various program management positions in the defense business during her tenure. She became vice president and general manager of Vertical Lift in January 2013 and held the role for one year until she was appointed chief financial officer and vice president of finance for defense, space and security in April 2014.

After serving for a year, Caret became the president of global services and support in February 2015 and served for another year until assuming her current role in February 2016.

She is a member of the United Service Organizations board of governors and was named an associate fellow to the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. She serves on the Association of the U.S. Army council of trustees and the Business-Higher Education Forum board of directors. Caret was named to Fortune’s Most Powerful Women list twice.

Caret earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Kansas State University and an MBA from Wichita State University. She earned certifications in the program for leadership development and the international security defense program from Harvard University and completed the integral leadership program at the University of Notre Dame.
