Matt Desch, CEO of Iridium, recently met with Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson to receive his 2023 Wash100 Award.
A Wash100 win represents the highest honor for executives in the vast government contracting industry. For 10 years, the award has hand-picked the strongest, most influential leaders in the field using a complex selection process that carefully weighs the accomplishments of each nominee.
Desch has maintained his standing as a Wash100 elite for nine years. In the 2023 iteration of the award, Desch was recognized for driving revenue growth and expanding Iridium’s already impressive presence as a partner for federal space operations. Click here to read his full profile.

Since Desch’s induction into Wash100 in January, the esteemed leader has already propelled Iridium to new heights. In February, Iridium Communications launched a portable satellite communication device compatible with smartphones, laptops and tablets and supports calling, office or chat application use and the transmission of emails, photos and other data.
Iridium also began a collaboration with the National Geographic Society Exploration Technology Lab to develop satellite communications technologies to provide data transmissions and communications from remote areas to support the lab’s Explorers.
