DAF CIO Lauren Knausenberger Accepts 3rd Wash100 Award From Jim Garrettson

Lauren Knausenberger, chief information officer of the Department of the Air Force, recently accepted her third Wash100 Award during a meeting with Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson.

In the award’s monumental 10th run, Knausenberger was selected for her dedication to bolstering DAF technological capabilities. Within the past year, she has spearheaded numerous initiatives to upgrade legacy systems, such as the Enterprise Information Technology as a Service program, and established long-term strategies for technology modernization.

Knausenberger’s contributions to the DAF have been widely recognized by the government contracting community. Last year, she ranked first in the popular vote contest – a testament to her strength as a public sector leader.

While the annual Wash100 Award honors past achievements, it also acknowledges the expected future impacts of its winners.

Though Knausenberger will step down from her current position in June, she has made tremendous efforts to ensure the success of the DAF well-beyond her tenure.

During GovCon Wire’s recent AF IT Modernization and Transformation Forum, Knausenberger discussed a variety of long-term roadmaps she recently created, which she said were made in collaboration with the DAF community as well as with CIOs from other military departments. She also expects a number of ongoing initiatives to conclude before her time in the role comes to a close.

Though her time as the department’s CIO is coming to a close, Executive Mosaic is excited to see where Knausenberger’s upcoming GovCon endeavors take her.

Executive Mosaic thanks and congratulates Lauren Knausenberger and the Department of the Air Force team for their 2023 Wash100 Award win.
