Booz Allen EVP Robert Silverman Presented His First Wash100 Award By Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson

Robert Silverman, an executive vice president with Booz Allen Hamilton, was recently presented his first Wash100 Award, the most prestigious and coveted award in government contracting (GovCon), by Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson during a recent visit to BAH headquarters.

For his 2021 Wash100 Award, Silverman was recognized for his leadership and his efforts to spearhead new defense technology to support U.S. warfighters in the digital battlefield, as well as his efforts to promote allyship across the company and industry.

“To me, allyship is a Booz Allen way of being. We want to solve the world’s most difficult problems for a very diverse constituency of clients. We can’t do that if we’re approaching those problems from a singular mindset. It’s my role to help create a culture that champions people who look and think differently,” Silverman said.

The Wash100 Award is an annual honor given to the elite members of the GovCon community recognizing them for their contributions and shedding a spotlight on the executives who are anticipated to make the most significant contributions in the year to come.

Silverman has become a Wash100 Award recipient, which demonstrates his commitment to the growth and success that drives the GovCon sector forward with innovation. Silverman is focused on supporting defense clients, leveraging innovative technologies to protect the nation and is helping to transform warfare with data and technology solutions.

Back in May, Silverman participated in an Executive Spotlight interview with ExecutiveBiz to discuss Booz Allen’s work in the digital battlespace, the company’s M&A activity and strategy, the challenges of mixing company cultures in acquisition and the latest opportunities for Booz Allen to drive growth in a post-pandemic federal landscape.

Here’s an excerpt of his Executive Spotlight interview discussing his philosophy to embrace the “productive disruption” concept to drive success in the federal landscape”

“We at Booz Allen are never content with the status quo. In other words, disrupt or be disrupted. You don’t stay in business for over 100 years by being content. We recruit people who are not content with things being the same.

Personally, if I’m not disrupting in some way, I’m not terribly comfortable. Let’s face it: whether it’s Booz Allen or any of us in professional services, we are in an industry of disruption, be it foreseen or unforeseen, whether technology advancements, new missions, new threats or new opportunities.”
