Gerry Fasano, president of Leidos' Defense Group, received his 2021 Wash100 Award from Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson during a recent visit to Leidos for his leadership and efforts to drive massive defense contracts with federal customers and spearheading valuable acquisitions, which has expanded Leidos revenue and influence in the marketplace.
For Fasano, this marks the second consecutive year that he’s received the most prestigious award in all of government contracting (GovCon) for his contributions to our industry as well as his company and the federal sector as a whole.
“Gerry Fasano not only bagged the coveted $7.7 billion NGEN-R for Leidos, but also guided his victory through 3 protests, said Garrettson. Based on Gerry's intensely competitive and consistent track record of acquisition success, we are expecting another huge year for the Leidos Defense Group and predict Gerry will ‘rinse & repeat' in 2021.“
Throughout 2020, Fasano has continued to expand Leidos' offerings and footprint in the government contracting (GovCon) sector. Most recently, Fasano helped lead Leidos' acquisition of 1901 Group, which was announced in Dec. 2020.
“1901 Group will provide substantial new capabilities to enhance the value we bring to existing defense customers and position Leidos to meet the growing demand for cloud-based solutions in the defense market,“ said Fasano. “The Leidos Defense Group will work to ensure these new capabilities are readily accessible to enhance our offerings and pursuits across the company.“
Fasano also spearheaded the potential $6.5 billion Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) award for the Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN) support services, which was upheld by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) in April 2020.
