Peraton CEO Stu Shea Presented Fifth Wash100 Award By Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson

Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson presented the fifth overall Wash100 Award, the most prestigious and sought-after award in all of government contracting (GovCon), to Stu Shea, chairman, president and CEO of Peraton, during a recent visit to the company's office.

For his 2021 Wash100 Award, Shea was recognized for his leadership in Peraton’s expansion efforts through acquisitions and contract awards from government and military customers for technology development, maintenance and support work.

This marks the fifth time that Stu Shea has received a Wash100 Award and the fourth consecutive year he’s received the honor since 2018. Under his leadership, Shea has been crucial to Peraton’s success as the company works to address the challenges of implementing major acquisitions of Northrop Grumman’s IT business and a $7.1 billion deal for Perspecta

Most recently, Shea said these key acquisitions were the driving forces behind Peraton’s transformation into a next-generation national security company that supports federal clients across the cyber, health, border, election and financial security areas.

“You see the deals. They happen, and sometimes you push them and get out in front of them. Sometimes they are just happening around you pretty quickly. You have to be opportunistic to jump on them,” Shea said of the recent transactions during ACG National Capital’s monthly meeting on June 8th.

Shea said the integration process was divided into “people” and “things” components. In addition, he cited efficiency and the need to provide employees with a flexible workplace as factors Peraton will consider as it assesses how much office space it will need.

“We’ve done a really good job with our customers, convincing them to allow us to do software development at someplace other than a Peraton facility, so why would we change that? We wouldn’t,” Shea said. “As long as we can do the right thing for our customers, operate effectively, keep our people safe and give them the flexibility and freedoms, then we don’t need as many facilities.”

Executive Mosaic congratulates Peraton and Stu Shea for his 2021 Wash100 Award. His vision, leadership and drive to expand the company and its presence in the GovCon industry and federal landscape has cemented him as one of the most significant executives of consequence for the rest of 2021 and beyond.
