Most notably, HII announced an all-cash acquisition of Alion Science and Technology from Veritas Capital for $1.65 billion back in July 2021. The acquisition has expanded HII’s capabilities in multidomain distributed operations in order to meet future readiness and modernization priorities of the U.S. Navy and the Department of Defense.

Following the announcement, Green commented that the Alion’s team, as well as its highly complementary solution and products, were consistent with the vision HII has articulated for its Technical Solutions business. He expressed his excitement for the growth potential the combination creates for both companies as well as their customers.

In his role, Green is responsible for the division formerly known as Technical Solutions, which is valued at $2.5 billion with more than 7,500 contributing to its highly advanced technology services and solutions to both domestic and international customers.

Green has been serving in the role since 2016 with oversight of the shipbuilder’s national security platforms across information technology, C5ISR support, unmanned systems, logistics support, and fleet maintenance and modernization, among other areas.

The four-time winner of the most prestigious award in all of GovCon, Green has continued to showcase his visionary leadership and relentless growth strategy to drive Huntington Ingalls Industries and its customers into the future. Executive Mosaic is honored to recognize Andy Green and HII as a 2022 Wash100 Award winner.
