Ford is receiving the 2026 Wash100 Award for his leadership of Capgemini Government Solutions during a period of sustained modernization demand across the federal government. Since being appointed CEO in July 2024, he has overseen the company’s continued delivery of enterprise modernization, digital transformation and emerging technology capabilities to federal agencies.
Under his leadership, CGS has supported agencies across civilian, health, national security and defense sectors, with an emphasis on integrating commercial technologies into government operations to improve mission outcomes.
Ford has also played a role in strengthening CGS’ federal capabilities through acquisitions, including VariQ in 2021 and Unity’s Government Professional Services arm in 2024, expanding the company’s service offerings and customer reach. In parallel, CGS has explored advanced technology initiatives, including quantum computing applications related to network performance and carbon capture research.

Who Is Dan Ford?
Dan Ford was appointed CEO of Capgemini Government Solutions in July 2024, succeeding Bill Webner after nearly 20 years with the organization. He joined CGS in 2006 and advanced through leadership roles including national security sector leader and head of U.S. federal sectors, where he supported business growth, delivery and client engagement across the federal market.
The Davidson College economics graduate holds a master’s degree in logistics from MIT. He is also a Certified Analytics Professional and Project Management Professional.
Recent Key Executive Appointments
Under Ford’s leadership, CGS has expanded its executive bench with several strategic appointments. The company named Raymond Holder as chief growth officer to strengthen growth strategy and technology innovation across federal missions. It also appointed Sam Hussain as U.S. defense sector head to oversee defense-focused strategy and delivery.
In addition, CGS selected Yemi Oshinnaiye as chief technologist to guide the integration of commercial innovation and advanced technology capabilities into federal mission environments.
