Aki Jain. The Palantir USG president and CTO won the 2026 Wash100 Award.

Aki Jain, president and chief technology officer of Palantir USG, has been named a 2026 Wash100 Award recipient, marking his second appearance on Executive Mosaic’s annual list of the most influential leaders in government and government contracting.

Jain is being recognized for helping deepen Palantir’s role in military artificial intelligence, command-and-control software, defense data integration, and secure edge deployment while guiding the company’s collaboration with government and industry partners on mission-critical modernization efforts.

The Wash100 Award recognizes executives whose leadership, vision and execution are shaping the future of federal missions and the GovCon landscape.

Why Is Aki Jain Winning the 2026 Wash100 Award?

Jain’s second Wash100 recognition reflects his leadership across a year in which Palantir expanded its footprint in defense AI, software-defined warfighting systems and secure government technology deployment.

One of the most significant milestones came in May 2025, when Palantir USG secured a $795 million Army contract modification for Maven Smart System software licenses, extending the service’s use of one of its premier AI-enabled operational applications.

Palantir’s broader role in Army modernization was also evident through TITAN, short for the Tactical Intelligence Targeting Access Node, which Jain described as a live, software-centric system designed to continually improve. The platform integrates sensors, networks, automation, AI and machine learning to support targeting and situational awareness in the connected battlespace.

Palantir USG also booked a $217.8 million Space Command and Control Data Platform contract from Space Systems Command, supporting Department of War and Joint Force missions with a platform built to aggregate data from disparate sources and accelerate decision-making.

In August 2025, the Army awarded Palantir a 10-year enterprise agreement with a maximum potential value of $10 billion for commercial software, consolidating dozens of contracts into one vehicle for data integration, analytics and AI tools.

The company also expanded into additional mission areas during the year, including a Marine Corps contract for the Maven Smart System command-and-control platform and a $385.4 million Veterans Affairs contract for the National Center for Veterans Analysis and Statistics platform.

In December 2025, Palantir USG was listed among the second tranche of awardees under the Missile Defense Agency’s SHIELD contract vehicle, positioning the company to compete for work supporting homeland missile defense research, prototyping, modernization and sustainment.

Jain helped advance Palantir’s standing as a secure defense technology provider. In September 2025, Palantir announced it had achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Level 2, reinforcing its ability to handle controlled unclassified information for defense contracts. In February 2026, the company announced that the Defense Information Systems Agency had authorized PFCS Forward, extending its Impact Level 5 and Impact Level 6 provisional authorizations to on-premises and edge deployments.

“Aki has spent the past 20 years shaping Palantir into a dependable partner for Department of War in critical emerging technologies,” said Jim Garrettson, CEO of Executive Mosaic and founder of the Wash100 Award. “He guided Palantir in 2025 to a remarkable $795 million contract from the Army for Maven Smart System licenses, the service’s premier artificial intelligence application.”

“Aki is especially talented in collaborating with other respected firms such as BlueForge Alliance to fast-track warship production, enhance fleet readiness and advance digital transformation for these essential military platforms. I’m pleased to award Aki with his second Wash100 Award, and I can’t wait to see the results he delivers in the next year,” Garrettson added.

Jain said the recognition reflects the long-term commitment behind Palantir’s government work.

“I’m deeply honored to receive this recognition. When I joined Palantir in 2005, we were a small group of engineers convinced that those who serve in uniform and in the intelligence community deserved technology worthy of the responsibility they bear. Few expected us to endure. We didn’t persevere because we were sure we’d win –– we persevered because we believed the effort was necessary. This recognition reflects the extraordinary people at Palantir who kept that belief alive and turned it into reality,” Jain said.

What Is Palantir USG?

Palantir USG is the company’s U.S. government business focused on delivering software and data platforms for defense, intelligence and civilian missions. Its technologies, including Gotham, Foundry and AIP, support data integration, analytics, AI-enabled operations and mission execution across classified, cloud, on-premises and edge environments.

Who Is Aki Jain?

As president and CTO of Palantir USG, Jain focuses on Palantir’s 0→1 research and development portfolio, including enabling AI and machine learning operations across the U.S. government business using Gotham and Foundry.

He joined Palantir in 2005 as a software engineer, helping design and build the Gotham platform. Over time, he led the deployment and iteration of Palantir’s software across the U.S. defense and intelligence communities and with international partners.

His technical expertise includes performance, scalability, security, cloud architecture, hybrid deployment models and edge solutions. Jain graduated from Stanford University in 2003 with a degree in computer science.

Deepening Palantir’s Partner Ecosystem

Another key reason for Jain’s Wash100 recognition is Palantir’s continued scaling of its technology through partnerships in 2025.

In July, BlueForge Alliance and Palantir launched the Warp Speed for Warships initiative, funded by the Navy’s Maritime Industrial Base program, to digitally connect shipbuilders, suppliers and partners using Palantir’s manufacturing operating system and Foundry platform.

That momentum continued in December, when the Navy announced a $448 million investment in Ship OS, which will use Palantir software to modernize shipbuilding operations, reduce bottlenecks, and accelerate AI and autonomy adoption across the maritime industrial base.

Palantir also expanded its collaboration network through partnerships with Anthropic, Everfox, SAP NS2, Accenture Federal Services, Deloitte, Databricks, Voyager, Exiger, Cubic and SNC, applying its software stack to areas such as secure AI workflows, command and control, space domain awareness, defense manufacturing, enterprise transformation, and supply chain resilience.

Building the Software Backbone for Defense Modernization

Across contracts, accreditations and partnerships, Jain’s 2025–2026 leadership story centers on one theme: making advanced software more deployable, more secure and more operationally relevant for government missions.

From Maven and TITAN to shipbuilding transformation, tactical edge deployments and AI-enabled decision support, Palantir’s work under Jain’s technical leadership reflects a broader shift toward software-defined defense capabilities.

Executive Mosaic congratulates Aki Jain on his 2026 Wash100 recognition and looks forward to his continued leadership at Palantir USG.
