2022 Wash100 Voting Update: Gen. Paul Nakasone Holds Top Slot; Lauren Knausenberger, Mary Petryszyn Keeping Close

With just over six weeks left, voting for the Wash100 Award ranking of your 30 favorite executives continues to heat up. This week saw a series of small but decisive changes in the list, with a number of lucky individuals steadily making their way one or two spots up the aggregated competition of executives in GovCon, government and industry. Since last week’s update, the top four executives remained the same with U.S. Army Gen. Paul Nakasone, commander of U.S. Cyber Command, holding his position at No. 1. However, within this elite group, Lauren Knausenberger, chief information officer of the U.S. Air Force, rose one spot to No. 2.

Mary Petryszyn, corporate vice president of Northrop Grumman and president of its defense systems arm, re-entered the top five this week. Petryszyn now stands at No. 5 and is a two-time consecutive Wash100 Award winner.

Also making gains was Craig Abod, CEO of Carahsoft, who climbed one spot to No. 9 and, with the biggest leap of the week, Jennifer Ewbank, deputy director of digital innovation at the CIA and a first-time Wash100 inductee, hopscotched three spots to No. 26 in a week’s time.

Moving their way closer to the top 10 was Dr. Kathleen Hicks, deputy secretary of the Department of Defense, who edged her way from No. 13 to No. 12 and Dr. Lisa Costa, chief technology and innovation officer at Space Force, who climbed from No. 15 to No. 14.
