SAIC CEO Nazzic Keene Receives Her Third Wash100 Award for Company Expansion, Driving IT Capabilities

Nazzic Keene, chief executive officer of Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), received her 2020 Wash100 Award on Wednesday from Executive Mosaic founder and CEO Jim Garrettson.

After winning the award in 2015 and 2019 for expanding SAIC services into other markets to generate company growth, Keene became a three-time Wash100 Award recipient for leading the company in major acquisitions, contract awards and the development of cloud platforms and other growth initiatives that have significantly expedited SAIC’s expansion.

In Aug. 2019, Keene succeeded former SAIC CEO Tony Moraco, a six-time Wash100 Award winner himself, following his retirement. Since taking the position, SAIC has seen strong and consistent growth, which included a $348 million revenue increase in the fourth quarter of its 2020 fiscal year.

The growth was mainly driven by the $1.2 billion acquisition of Unisys’ Federal Business. The deal has enhanced the company’s capabilities in modernizing IT, cloud migration, managed services, development, security and operations. The company also continues to grow its portfolio of intellectual property and technology-driven products to support federal customers.

“This exciting opportunity advances our strategy by building on our modernization capabilities, increasing customer access, accelerating growth and enhancing shareholder value…The financial benefits of acquiring Unisys Federal are compelling, including accretion of adjusted EBITDA margins, non-GAAP earnings per share, and cash generation,” said Keene.

Most recently, Keene discussed the companywide reorganization of SAIC’s business structure into two segments of defense and civilian business as well as national security and space business. The move will be effective on Oct. 31st as part of efforts to advance growth priorities in digital engineering, space and digital transformation, among other areas.

Executive Mosaic congratulates SAIC and Nazzic Keene for her 2020 Wash100 Award. Keene’s continued dedication to develop a comprehensive growth model and leadership in valuable acquisitions and contract awards proves that her influence over the industry and SAIC’s pivotal presence in the GovCon sector.
