Letitia ‘Tish’ Long Receives Her Second Wash100 Award

Letitia “Tish” Long, chairwoman of the board of directors for Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA), was presented her second Wash100 Award by the CEO of Executive Mosaic Jim Garrettson on Thursday.

Previously, Tish Long received her first Wash100 Award in 2014 for leadership and strong drive for geomatics, emerging technologies and advanced analytic techniques as the former director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) between 2010 and 2014.

For this year’s honor, Long has continued her efforts to advance the latest research initiatives in the federal sector as well as demonstrate great leadership as a result of the challenges of the recent COVID-19 pandemic.

The INSA sent a letter to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) recommending new federal policies that would offer financial relief for government contractors currently maintaining the defense industrial base in March 2020.

INSA officials said the support during the pandemic shouldn’t just be procedural. In addition to guidance on how contractors should pursue their jobs, they also need policies that will ensure they can stay in business while the pandemic is ongoing.

In addition to Long’s support for the GovCon industry and its employees, she has also supervised research initiatives to identify new methods to govern information and enhance security.

Under her leadership, INSA researched and released a report on electronic information, Publicly Available Electronic Information (PAEI) and its role in preventing insider threat information in Feb. 2020.

“INSA argues that government agencies need to figure out how to make the most of PAEI, issuing uniform legal standards behind its use. These sources can provide valuable insight into the lives of cleared employees and help set off alarm bells that may not be otherwise visible. The report does an excellent job of summarizing both the value of PAEI and where the government is doing well – and falling short – with its use,” said Caroline D’Agati of Clearance Jobs.

Most notably, Long was elected to the board of directors with Parsons in April 2020. Chuck Harrington, CEO of Parsons and a fellow 2020 Wash100 Award recipient, explained how fortunate Parsons was to have her leadership and anticipates that she will continue to deliver differentiated, creative capabilities in support of the intelligence community.

Executive Mosaic congratulates INSA and Letitia Long for her 2020 Wash100 Award. Long’s continued dedication to develop research initiatives for the federal market as well as government policies to enact positive change demonstrates her status as an elite member of the government contracting (GovCon) community.
