Former ODNI Principal Executive Andrew Hallman Receives First Wash100 Award

On Thursday, Executive Mosaic founder and CEO Jim Garrettson presented Andrew Hallman, former principal executive for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) his first Wash100 Award as a part of the 2020 class.

Hallman received his 2020 Wash100 Award for developing new security initiatives and outlining how cybersecurity can be integrated into both the public and private sectors. He brought over three decades of experience to ODNI as its Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence until he stepped down from the role in Feb. 2020.

“The vital intelligence our IC professionals provide to the nation’s leaders will continue to protect Americans and defend the values for which so many have paid the ultimate sacrifice. The excellence that is the keystone of the IC — the hallmarks of our work — will continue to thrive,” Hallman said in a statement.

Hallman has since rejoined the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) where he served as the deputy director for digital innovation at the CIA, where he oversaw digital and cyber integration efforts across the agency’s mission areas.

In addition, Hallman has been pivotal to the strategic initiatives in the intelligence community in recent years. He assisted the National Counterintelligence and Security Center in the development of the National Counterintelligence Strategy of the United States of America 2020-2022 in February 2019. The plan has outlined a new approach to counterintelligence to address threats that have evolved significantly since the last strategy in 2016.

The guide has created three new initiatives to ensure success within IC and counterintelligence. The plan enhanced the protection of the nation’s critical infrastructure from foreign intelligence entities seeking to exploit or disrupt national critical functions.

The agency will also actively reduce threats to key U.S. supply chains to prevent foreign attempts to compromise the integrity, trustworthiness, and authenticity of products and services purchased and integrated into the operations of the U.S. government, the defense industrial base, and the private sector.

Executive Mosaic applauds Andrew Hallman on his first Wash100 Award. Hallman has accumulated a lot of experience over 30-plus years in the intelligence community, and his 2020 Wash100 Award exhibits his commitment to excellence in the GovCon industry as well.
