CGI Federal President Tim Hurlebaus Receives Third Wash100 Award for Company Growth, Expanding Tech

Tim Hurlebaus, president of CGI Federal, was presented his third Wash100 Award on Friday for closing valuable acquisitions, securing contract awards and growing CGI’s tech offerings, which have continued to expand the company’s influence in the industry.

Previously, Hurlebaus received the award in 2016, and then again in 2019 for leading CGI Federal and serving clients in the defense, intelligence and civilian sectors of the U.S. federal government.

He’s received his 2020 Wash100 Award for continuing to close valuable acquisitions, secure contract awards and expand CGI’s tech offerings as well as the company’s influence in the government contracting (GovCon) industry.

Most notably, CGI acquired Annams Systems Corp., doing business as Sunflower Systems, a provider of asset management software products and services in Sept. 2019.  A definitive agreement was entered on Aug. 27th and the transaction was completed by the end of September.

“CGI’s merger with Sunflower Systems is aligned to our Build and Buy strategy, providing opportunities to expand our offerings to the public and private sector, and offering IT modernization opportunities aligned with our strategy,” said Hurlebaus.

The merger has strengthened CGI’s position to serve the needs of commercial entities and federal government agencies, including universities, government contractors, law enforcement organizations and national laboratories.

More recently, Hurlebaus’ led the company to reach an agreement to acquire TeraThink to expand its enterprise application services for federal government clients. The acquisition also allows CGI Federal to build up its consulting capabilities and incorporate TeraThink’s data analytics, application development and agile enablement capabilities into its IT offerings portfolio

Hurlebaus said the two companies share a culture of delivering services, maintaining client satisfaction and meeting the changing needs in partnership with consumers.

Hurlebaus’ leadership assisted the notable growth CGI has achieved through securing contracts and acquisitions as well as expanding the company’s technology solutions, which  demonstrates the level of vision and success that befits a Wash100 Award recipient.
